Our new custom-made vignette, Cyrano de Bergerac and his beloved Roxane, was inspired by the 1950 film starring José Ferrer. Cyrano de Bergerac, a poet and swordsman, lived in seventeenth-century Paris and became the prototype of the hero of the same name drama by Edmond Rostand.

Cyrano is a witty poet and duelist who is secretly in love with his beautiful cousin Roxane. He harbors no hope of love being returned because of his outstanding nose. Fearless on the battlefield, Cyrano is afraid to reveal the secret of his heart rather than risking mockery. He commits to write love letters to Roxane on behalf of the tongue-tied handsome guardsman who has attracted Roxane’s attention. Roxane has fallen in love with the beautiful soul of their author, not suspecting that the letters had come from Cyrano's pen.

Years later, Cyrano's secret is finally revealed when he recites from memory the last of his love letters, and Roxane loses her newly found true love. Cyrano is fatally wounded and wins the last minutes from death to say goodbye to his beloved Roxane under the walls of the monastery, where she has spent many years.

The vignette created from scratch and produced by Attica Miniatures is available for sale painted on order to Museum / Art Level standard.
